Welcome to the Next Generation Practical Training Fund application process. The fund is provided by the Scottish Government for residents of Scotland who either commenced their agricultural career in the last 5 years, or are studying farming, full-time or part-time, or who are keen to start.
To help increase access to improved knowledge, knowhow and skills, this fund will provide support of up to £500 for new, and prospective new entrants to undertake training courses.
Although there is a particular focus on climate change adaptation and mitigation practices, and biodiversity/habitats improvement, the fund will also support other equally important areas such as health and safety; equipment training, business efficiency and resilience.
In your application you should explain how the training will support the development of your farming business or employment opportunities. We particularly welcome applications from remote rural and island communities.
While priority will be given to new applicants, you can continue making applications to develop your skills over several months, as long as you only apply for a maximum of one course a month.
