Women in Agriculture - Practical Training 2023
Welcome to the Women in Agriculture Practical Training Fund application process. This fund is provided by the Scottish Government and aims to support women and girls thirteen years and older in agriculture by providing the opportunity for skills development and training.
Please note: If you have started on your agricultural career path within the last 5 years, and/or are undergoing or have just completed formal sector-related education, you may be eligible for funding through the Next Generation Practical Training Fund instead. Please select your course and apply through the Next Generation fund, if you fit this criteria. Click here to see Next Generation Practical Training Fund courses.
The Women in Agriculture fund is open to any woman or girl aged thirteen years older, resident in Scotland who is either already working in or studying in this sector, full-time or part-time, or who is keen to start.
In your application you should explain how the training will support the development of your business or employment options. We welcome applications from remote rural and island communities.
You can continue making applications to develop your skills over several months, as long as you only apply for a maximum of one course a month. We are currently reviewing applications on a fortnightly basis.
Funding:
• 100% funding is available for training up to the value of £500 per course
• You can apply for training that is more than £500, but you will have to demonstrate the additional value to you or your business in your application form.
Please note you should wait until you get confirmation of funding from us before you do any training, as we cannot make retrospective payments for training undertaken before approval is granted.
