Description

This class is part of the RSN International Summer School 2024

This is an in person  class and takes place at The Sayre School, Lexington, Kentucky, USA  The class runs over two days  from Monday 15 to Tuesday 16 July 2024: 10am - 4pm (EST).

This Jacobean Crewelwork design was inspired by a painting made my Marjorie Wilson, held in the RSN Collection of a typical Jacobean design.  

The class will be worked onto a cream linen fabric with Appleton’s Crewel wools in traditional Blues and browns often seen in Jacobean work.  

The class will cover the following stitches: Trellis Stitch, Burden Stitch, Raised Stem Band, Padded Satin Stitch, Long and Short Stitch, Fly Stitch, Seeding, Couching, Stem Stitch, Chain Stitch, Coral Stitch and French Knots.  

Your kit will include all the materials you require to complete the design including the design printed cream linen, full skeins of the wools used (4 blue, 3 brown) and needles. The kit will also include full written instructions.  

Students will also need an 8” hoop and embroidery scissors.
