A detailed introduction to management accounting and reporting.

This Unit will introduce you to management accounting and reporting, and is designed to develop your management information decision making and information technology skills. It is offered to students working towards the HNC Accounting qualification.

Credit points and level: 2 HN credits at SCQF level 7: (16 SCQF credit points at SCQF level 7)
You will make use of information technology to demonstrate the various ways in which management information can be displayed. You will learn to provide meaningful information to facilitate planning, control and decision-making through budgets, variance analysis and marginal costing. You will also use a management accounting software package to prepare a financial model for planning and control purposes.
There are four assessments for this course and each will be carried out under supervised conditions. In order to complete this unit successfully, you will be required to achieve a satisfactory level of performance in all assessed work.
