Forest School training at Jupiter Artland, Wilkieston, EH27 8BY. A bend of online self-paced modules and seminars, and all-day woodland sessions.

The course begins on 28th Apr and comprises woodland sessions, and online seminars, plus practical assessment tasks and written workbooks. Dates and structure for the taught elements is shown on https://forestschooltraining.co.uk/training/fs-training-dates-booking/. All levels start together at Module 1. Level 5s finish there. Levels 6 & 8 continue together to do Module 2, with Level 6s finishing there. Level 8s go on to complete Modules 3 and 4. The higher the level you want to achieve, the more of the course you complete. Those who qualify at levels 5 or 6 can complete modules on a later course to “step up” their qualification. Aline Hill, has been at the heart of Forest School training in Scotland since 2009 and is one of Scotland’s most experienced trainers. Aline has co-created Forest School communities with a diverse range of learners, from early years to adult mental health and wellbeing. She also holds an MA Education in Children in the Outdoors 0-5 from University of Birmingham, and continues to be fascinated by the ways that people and the rest of nature can support each other. Aline is also delivers Forest School First Aid training (16-hrs outdoor first aid), getting consistently top ratings for her courses, which are valued for their relevance and hands-on focus. (Level 8s require to hold a 16 hour first aid qualification when delivering their 8-session practice forest school block.)
The Future Forestry Training Fund, was established by Scottish Forestry to support those relatively new to forestry, by providing the opportunity to develop their skills relating to the practicalities of forestry practice as well as wider business and sustainability skills, in order to help them secure, sustain and progress their careers.
The Women in Forestry Practical Training Fund, was established by Scottish Forestry to support the personal development of women, providing them with additional skills to progress their careers and employment opportunities in forestry beyond their current role.
