This 18-week course is aimed at care experienced people and individuals who have faced difficulties in their childhood, to help them redress gaps in essential knowledge. Extensive support is offered before the course starts and throughout the programme to help develop personal skills and present wider opportunities for growth within education and employment.
This course is suitable for young people from 16-21 who are:
• Ready to make a change by engaging with and attending the programme for its duration.
• At a stage in development where college is an appropriate next step.
• Able to attend three days a week.
• Care experienced, as outlined by Scottish Funding Council, in order to receive bursary payments.
Individuals who have experienced difficulties in their childhood - such as death of a loved one, bullying, difficulties in engaging with school or exposure to trauma - may also be considered and should contact the team to discuss their eligibility.
