What will I learn?

Subjects you will study during the Care Partnership Course include:

  • Social services in Scotland  
  • Safeguarding people
  • Communication in care relationships
  • Safe practice and wellbeing in social services
  • Human development and social influences
  • Caring for people with dementia
  • Prevention of infection 

During the Care Intern Partnership course you will also receive academic guidance and support from both the college and GCHSCP. 

The GCHSCP runs five main care service centres through the city so you would be able to carry out your placement at the one nearest to where you live.

Your days in college will be Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (Monday for the first twelve weeks only) and your days on placement with GCHSCP will be Thursday and Friday for six hours each day, or you can work 12 hours on one of these days.
