Description

What will I learn?

During this Ceramics Introduction course, you will learn:

  • Coil building
  • Slab building
  • Tile/ Relief making
  • Finishing, glazing
  • Kiln Operating

You will spend the first few weeks learning about the basics of ceramics as well as health and safety. During the second half of the ceramics course, you will create a self-led project. The lecturer will guide you in research and design, maquette making, glaze testing and building final forms.

We will provide:

  • Clay
  • Glaze
  • Tools
  • Equipment
  • PPE

You should bring/wear:

  • Protective clothing (overalls or apron)
  • Clothes you don't mind getting dirty
  • Sturdy boots or trainers (ideally safety boots)
