The RSN provides a range of embroidery classes for all levels and techniques.
This course is available on the Royal School of Needlework website.
Have you got a large collection of pretty bead and sequins but are not sure what to do with them? Then this is the class for you
Using your own stash, we will look at lots of creative ways to stitch with beads and sequins to create textures, patterns and height to enhance your embroidery or embellish your clothes
The class will be online over 4 sessions focusing firstly with beads and secondly with sequins. You will be able to experiment at your own pace and make a sample of beadwork to refer back to. Each piece will be unique depending on how adventurous you are and how diverse your collection is. There will also be discussion on how you can use these techniques on unconventional materials for more interesting results using household items and possibly recycling waste items
We will look at adding beads to some surface stitches as well as specific techniques for beads and sequins so some previous experience will be an advantage but not essential, all abilities are welcome to join
You can explore many more stitches on the RSN Stitch Bank.
Please note that this is an online class. Please see provider website to view important joining information about online classes.
The class will run from 7pm-9pm on the following dates:
Wednesday 22,29 January, 5, 12 February 2025
