Description

It is an intensive one-day course during which we cover Licensing Law, Associated Law and the effects of alcohol. The Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005 states, that in order to sell alcohol, every premises must have a named “Premises Manager” – the qualification to become a “Premises Manager” is a Personal Licence. It is therefore, an important qualification. In order to be granted a personal licence every applicant must present evidence of having attained a licensing qualification to the local Licensing Board. City & Guilds and Alcohol Focus Scotland have worked closely to develop the 7104-11 Certificate (Personal Licence Qualification) which covers both on and off sales establishments. The qualification has been specifically designed to ensure that learners can develop their knowledge of the licensing legislation, gain an understanding of the licensing processes in Scotland along with the roles and responsibilities of both individuals and organisations involved in those processes. In addition, candidates will learn about other forms of legislation that affect them while working on licensed premises along with a greater understanding of the effects alcohol can have on individuals and on society.

See provider website for further details.

The Personal Licence Holder Course (which is mandatory for all Premises Managers) is aimed at Licensees, Managers and Bar Staff who wish to apply for their Personal Licence.
