This introductory course is a great starting point for learners who wish to develop their skills in dog grooming. Topics covered include: the requirements for different dog breeds for grooming depending on coat type, preparing dogs for grooming and applying grooming techniques, performing routine tasks and maintaining the dog's comfort and health and monitoring and maintaining the cleanliness of the working environment.
Applicants must be committed to caring for and looking after animals. Applicants must be aged 16 or over.
As a level 5 SQA unit is included in this course, there will be written and practical assessments that must be passed in order to complete the course.
Successful learners may wish to progress onto An Introduction to Dog Grooming Part 2.
