Astral Moth Appliqué

Sunday 21st April – Morning 10.30am – 1pm

Tutor – Catriona Brown

Lewis & Irene have collaborated with Delphine Brooks, a textile artist and designer from Warwickshire, to produce a raw edge appliqué pattern specifically designed to be made with their new Celestial fabric range. The astral pattern creates lovely appliqué moths that can be made into quilts or cushions. A free copy of the pattern is included in the price of the class.

This class is designed to help you through appliquéing your first moth. We’ll cover fabric selection, accurately cutting out the shapes, fusing them on and securing them with the stitch of your choice. We’ll also discuss what you can do with your finished moth image. We probably won’t complete anything during the class but you’ll be well on your way and understand what you need to do to finish your project.

This class will involve a lot of cutting and ironing and a sewing machine is the best way to secure your fused pieces. However it is possible to do this with hand sewing if you’d prefer. This class is suitable for complete beginners.
