Description
A tote bag is a great project for both beginner and more experienced sewers. A simple flat tote is perfect for if you’ve just learnt how to use a sewing machine but there are plenty of extras that can be added if you’d like. We’ll make a lined, reversible tote bag with your choice of size and handle length. If you are a more confident sewer we can also look at boxing the bottom corners, reinforcing the base and creating comfort grip handles. Instructions will also be provided on how to add various types of pockets but we probably don’t have time to do that in the class. Once you’ve taken the class you will be able to make tote bags customised to whatever need you have!
You will need your sewing machine, fabric, and webbing. Plus extra’s like interfacing if desired. Exact details will be sent with your order acknowledgment.
This class is suitable for those with basic sewing skills, experience with cutting fabric to size would be helpful. You must have basic experience with machine sewing.

In April 2014 it moved to new premises in Edinburgh where Jo Avery further developed her myBearpaw brand of sewing classes, fabric, wool and haberdashery. In July 2020 the business was taken over by Catriona Brown who aims to continue in the same creative vein, with interesting classes and lovely craft supplies.
