The Modern Apprenticeship in Construction - Painting & Decorating includes Practical Skill Development, Theory and Associated Subjects, Health & Safety and on-site work experience to build a portfolio of evidence.
Qualifications
Painting & Decorating (SCQF Level 6)
Delivery
4 years day release - 2 days per week, 36 weeks per year.
(2 years for mature students)
Location
At your workplace anywhere in Scotland, however please note that candidates will also be required to attend our Galashiels Campus as part of the award.Entry requirements
Candidates must be employed and working in a suitable environment to be able to provide evidence of their competence in the workplace.
Course Content
The course comprises of Painting and Decorating - 8 mandatory units and 2 optional units. The units cover the following areas: Confirm Work Activities and Resources for the Work, Develop and Maintain Good Working Relationships, Confirm the Occupational Method of Work, Conform to General Workplace Health, Safety and Welfare, Erect and Dismantle Access/Working Platforms, Prepare Surfaces for Painting/Decorating, Apply Paint Systems by Brush and Roller, Painting and Decorating Skills Test. 2 optional units can be chosen from a range of options suited to the work place.
