Description

Rope Bowl

 Sunday 2nd February- Morning 10:30am – 1pm

Tutor – Catriona Brown

Make a fantastic bowl or basket with nothing but a skein of rope, thread and a sewing machine! We’ll learn how to start a round rope bowl and also discuss oval and square (ish) bases. Once you’ve made your start then we’ll learn how to turn the edge to start the sides. We’ll also look at adding handles and finishing neatly. We’ll discuss changing colours of rope and/or thread to customise your bowls. We’ll also look at other things you can make, the possibilities are endless!

You must be comfortable with using a sewing machine, we’ll be securing our bowl using a zigzag stitch. No other experience is required.

myBearpaw is a craft class studio and specialist retailer which started inside Avery Homestore (one of Edinburgh’s best independent home and craft retailers for over fifteen years). In April 2014 it moved to new premises in Edinburgh where Jo Avery further developed her myBearpaw brand of sewing classes, fabric, wool and haberdashery. In July 2020 the business was taken over by Catriona Brown who aims to continue in the same creative vein, with interesting classes and lovely craft supplies.

myBearpaw Craft Classes – where you can learn new skills in a friendly, relaxed environment.
