Sashiko is a traditional Japanese embroidery technique involving a running stitch. Catriona will be showing you how to mark up designs, use the thread correctly, tie the traditional thread joining knot, and sharing tips and advice to get you started. We will make 6” squares with a roughly 4” wide design in each that can be used to make a simple coaster, a patch for clothes or stitched together into a larger sampler! We will look at 2 different designs in the class and fabric and instructions to make 5 squares is included.
(Image shows  two 6” squares and two 4” squares, we will be working towards four 6” squares and one 8” square)
Suitable for complete beginners.
