Christmas Tree Skirt
Sunday 17th November – full day 10.30am-4pm
Tutor – Catriona Brown
In this class we’ll make a simple but effective Christmas Tree Skirt in an attractive swirl pattern. A Christmas tree skirt goes around the base of your Christmas Tree to hide the stand, provide an attractive base for presents and catch falling needles!
There will be 3 different sizes you can work on, at 40”, 60” or 80” in diameter. The smallest size is pictured. The small uses 4 colours and the medium and large sizes up to 8. In the full day class we’ll cut our wedges and assemble our circle, we’ll also layer it with backing and wadding and start quilting it. You may get onto cutting out the quilted skirt and binding the edges but full instructions and explanations on how to do this will be provided regardless. This is a fun technique that’s economical with fabric. You must be able to use a rotary cutter, sew with a consistent seam and be familiar with quilting and binding to take this class but it is fairly straightforward.
