The RSN provides a range of embroidery classes for all levels and techniques.
This course is available on the Royal School of Needlework website.
Join Kelley in five 2½ hour sessions to work this charming winter motif. Stumpwork and Freestyle Embroidery techniques are included in this design, including Long & Short Shading, Turkey Work, Wired Shapes and Bead Wrapping. The finished embroidery measures approximately 8cm
square.
You will be guided step by step through this project with clear video demonstrations and screen shared images, supported by an illustrated instruction booklet which comes in the kit. In addition, a specific WhatsApp group will be set up to enable the sharing of work in progress images and for
the tutor to give instant feedback during the class. Finally, there will be an online student classroom where all images and videos (plus extra information about various useful resources) will be accessible 24/7 for the duration of the class, and for an additional 3 months afterwards.
Kit includes: pre-printed linen, backing calico fabric, cotton organdie, wooden beads, silk ribbon, stranded cotton threads, silver thread, fine paper-wrapped wire, full needle book, instruction booklet.
Additional equipment required: a 20cm (8“) embroidery hoop or similar and sharp embroidery scissors
