The RSN provides a range of embroidery classes for all levels and techniques.
This course is available on the Royal School of Needlework website.
In this one-day introduction to the Whitework technique of Pulled Thread, you will learn how to embroider and construct your own sparkly Christmas bauble to hang on the Christmas tree. Using sparkly, white thread and a selection of Pulled and Surface Stitches students will be given a manageable introduction to this technique before being shown how to very effectively back and mount their work in the 4 inch wooden hoop provided. Some experience of counted thread techniques such as Cross Stitch would be useful. Stitches covered include Four Sided Stitch, Honeycomb, Eyelets and Stem Stitch.
This Day Class will get you in the mood for the coming festive season.
The class kit will include everything you require to complete the project. You may like to bring your own embroidery scissors and you will be able to borrow ring frames, magnifiers and lights (if needed) on the day.
Please note this is an onsite class which will run from 10am-4pm at Hampton Court Palace, East Molesey, Surrey KT8 9AU.
You can explore many more stitches on the RSN Stitch Bank.
