This course is available on the North East Scotland College website.
This unit forms part of the National 5 Mathematics course but can also be studied as a stand alone unit. The National 5 qualification enables learners to acquire and apply operational skills necessary for developing mathematical ideas through symbolic representation and diagrams.
The aim of this Unit is to develop skills linked to mathematical expressions and formulae.
You will cover the use of mathematical operational skills linked to expressions and formulae & use mathematical reasoning skills linked to expressions and formulae.
These include the manipulation of abstract terms, the simplification of expressions and the evaluation of formulae.
The Outcomes cover aspects of number, algebra, geometry and reasoning.
