When - 09 October 2025, 9am to 5pm Where - Dunkeld, Perthshire In a nutshell This module looks at ways to transform even-aged monocultures into diverse and resilient woodlands, either by species or structural diversification. Indoor sessions cover the underlying silvicultural principles whereas extensive site visits offer the opportunity to explore practical examples. Learning outcomes Delegates can explain the principles of forest diversification and are able to adapt them by choosing appropriate diversification strategies in given situations. We are an Edinburgh-based forestry consultancy, now offering courses in regenerative forestry. Taught by renowned silviculturist Dr Jens Haufe, our regenerative forestry programme builds from basic forest science and silviculture, through to advanced management decision making and operational planning. It is focused on providing participants with the knowledge and confidence to practice regenerative style forestry.
The Future Forestry Training Fund, was established by Scottish Forestry to support those relatively new to forestry, by providing the opportunity to develop their skills relating to the practicalities of forestry practice as well as wider business and sustainability skills, in order to help them secure, sustain and progress their careers.
The Women in Forestry Practical Training Fund, was established by Scottish Forestry to support the personal development of women, providing them with additional skills to progress their careers and employment opportunities in forestry beyond their current role.
