Description

- Are you an executive or non-executive director looking to enhance board performance? - Are you new to your board or senior management role, or about to join a senior team? - Would understanding board leadership and governance benefit you and your organisation? - Would you like to know more about effective leadership styles, team dynamics and board relationships? The Board Ready Programme will give you the key skills required to actively participate on a Board and develop as a self-aware director for the future. This development opportunity is unique in that it combines learning the key technical and psychological skills which empower directors to effectively participate on a Board. Board Ready has been designed and is delivered by Sheila Campbell-Lloyd of Inner Works and Sheelagh Duffield of Savendie. The programme comprises an initial two-day in-person workshop and concludes with a one-day workshop applying learning in a mock board meeting. Virtual sessions take place over a 6-week period and are an important part of the programme offering coaching and mentoring and action learning groups which focus on topics arising in the workshop. The first workshop focuses on both the technical framework and psychological skills which empower senior executives and directors to navigate the complex landscape of corporate governance, finance and risk, while fostering positive relationships, driving effective decision-making, and leading the organisation towards its strategic goals. The programme also supports recognising behaviours to understand the human factors that affect a board, how you impact and play your part in team dynamics and develop independent thinking. The final workshop provides the opportunity to apply the learning in a mock board meeting and receive feedback from the course leaders and peers.
