Course provides an understanding of the duties of an Authorising Engineer in relation to the requirements of the implementation and application of WTSR. Sets out the process of approving an AWP and preparation to be formally authorised to carry out the role in accordance with the WTSR P6.

  • Ensuring Safety from the System and a Safe System of Work
  • Roles and Responsibilities of the AE
  • Technical competence required of an AE (Ref P6)
  • Requirements of approving an AWP
  • How Safety from the System can be achieved
  • Format and content of an AWP
  • How work is managed and controlled under an AWP
  • Agreeing safety precautions for cross boundary work
