The Aim of the Course is to:
Provide the candidates with a knowledge and understanding of the safety procedures and precautions before and during excavation work.

Identify underground apparatus
Use pipe and cable locaters

Candidates will participate in theory lessons all of which are highlighted by the use of OHP & Videos covering;
Interpretation of utility maps
Symbols used by utility companies on maps
Transferring of information
Review of HSG 47 – Avoiding danger from Underground Services
Common types of underground apparatus
Support of apparatus in open excavations
Use of cable and pipe locaters
