Description

The course looks at identifying the hazards and risks associated with the working area, the proposed work and the machine, as well as current health and safety legislation. You will be carrying out pre and post-start checks to ensure correct operation of the machine and safety of the operator, and then manoeuvring and operating the machine on-site. Cleaning, servicing and storing the mulcher / flail is also covered.

As you will have achieved the Level 2 Award in Forest Machine Operations (Base Machinery), with your required endorsements, you may progress to undertake training and assessment with other specific forest machinery such as the forwarder, skidder and cable crane.
