To approach any employer as a qualified and sought after chainsaw operator, which in this economic climate would put you in a most favourable position to gain employment, or if you decide to go into business for yourself. It goes without saying that this course does not give you years of experience, but combine that with a great introduction to forestry , over 160hrs of contact with industry professionals, the training & qualifications you achieve, now this is a recipe for success.

Achieving 7 City & Guilds/NPTC awards:

0039-20 Award in chainsaw maintenance & Cross-cut Timber using a Chainsaw
0039-21 Award in felling and processing trees up to 380mm
0039-33 Award in felling and processing Medium trees over 380mm and up to 760mm
0039-35 Award in dealing with interwoven stems and part blown trees
Award in Branch Removal and Breakdown of a Crown
0039-30 Award in Assisted Fell Operations
Optional use of tractor based Skidder or Forwarder
50% Funding can apply
