Description

What will I learn?

This Introductory course is heavily focused on developing the necessary skills to help you understand the art and design process. You'll learn techniques and methods of working which are fun and challenging at the same time.

You'll learn more about artists and explore how to critique your own artwork. Throughout the course, we'll help you discover which areas of art you are most interested in and encourage you to develop your skills in those areas. Each stage of the course will help you to build on your learning, in the final term you'll work on a project which is graded Pass, Merit or Distinction.

The course will cover: 

  • Drawing methods  
  • Printmaking techniques  
  • Working with a range of 2D media  
  • 3D construction techniques  
  • Sketchbook development  
  • Introduction to animation 
  • Reflection, evaluation, and planning 
  • Portfolio presentation
