Gamekeeping offers a challenging and rewarding way of life, and the focal point of this course lies in the practical 'hands-on' training students receive. Our approach to delivering this course effectively readies our students for advancing either into full-time jobs or pursuing higher education within the realm of land-based industries. Within the curriculum, students will strive to attain the Deer Management Qualification Level 1, a widely accepted benchmark in the field of wild deer management.
Applicants should be at least 16 years of age, with a reasonably high standard of physical fitness. Motivation and an understanding of working in the rural sector is beneficial to all applicants.

Mature students
All students are required to gain a suitable placement on an estate for the duration of the course. Applicants are responsible for securing this placement, but support will be given to help applicants find a suitable placement, which will be discussed at interview. Applicants will be required to submit a CV if they would like support to find a work placement.
