What will I learn?

This DIY course will show you how to perform small maintenance tasks within your home. You will learn traditional methods of joinery including measuring, cutting and applying the fundamentals or joinery skills to small dedicated projects such as:

Joinery

  • Partition/frame construction
  • Plasterboard cutting, fitting and repair
  • Setting out, cutting and fitting of internal architraves such as skirtings and facings
  • Lock and latch repair
  • Door maintenance

Tiling

  • Measuring out sizes for tiles and making gauge rod
  • Starting tiling, using spacers and tiling tools
  • Continuing tiling, measuring cuts and using a tile saw
  • Finishing off tiling, grout tiles and clean tiles
  • Attaching bathroom/kitchen fittings to tiles using a cordless drill

Our fully trained staff are also on hand to offer a bespoke activity upon request.

The price of the course includes the cost of all materials used.
