Forest College is part of Newbattle Abbey College in Dalkeith. We are the awarding body for the Forest and Outdoor Learning Awards (FOLAs) including the FOLA Level 8 Leadership award, recognised by the Forest School Association as equivalent to the Forest School Leader Practitioner award level 3 which qualifies you as a Forest School Leader and to run forest school programmes. Set within the huge woodland at Lord Ancrum's Wood, we are able to provide a truly experiential programme of learning.
The Future Forestry Training Fund was established by Scottish Forestry to support those relatively new to forestry, by providing the opportunity to develop their skills relating to the practicalities of forestry practice as well as wider business and sustainability skills, in order to help them secure, sustain and progress their careers.
The Women in Forestry Practical Training Fund was established by Scottish Forestry to support the personal development of women, providing them with additional skills to progress their careers and employment opportunities in forestry beyond their current role.
